Hello,

I am Lucie Donzel-Gargand, a French osteopath with a degree from ISOstéo Lyon in France. My extensive training has provided me with expertise in structural, tissue, visceral, and cranial techniques.
I have been practicing in Uppsala for over ten years. With a passion for my profession, I also teach anatomy and visceral techniques at the Franco-Swedish school ECOM in Alingsås.
As a member of the Swedish Osteopathic Association, I am both treatment and liability insured and attend regular continuing education courses.

I look forward to helping you achieve better health through my knowledge and skills.

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a manual therapy used to treat functional disorders that can affect any part of the human body.
Osteopathy views the body as a unified system where all parts are interconnected and interdependent. Loss of mobility in joints, muscles, ligaments, or internal organs can lead to an imbalance in overall health.
The goal of osteopathy is to restore the body’s balance and create the optimal conditions for health and well-being. A balanced body is the foundation for optimal health.

What to Expect During an Osteopathy Consultation

The initial consultation typically lasts 50-60 minutes, while follow-up consultations are usually shorter, lasting 45-50 minutes.

A consultation consists of three stages:

  1. Patient History: We’ll begin by gathering information about your medical history, lifestyle, and current symptoms.
  2. Physical Examination: Using palpation (a highly developed sense of touch), we’ll carefully examine your body to identify areas of restriction or imbalance.
  3. Treatment: Based on our findings, the osteopath will select the most appropriate treatment techniques tailored to your individual needs. The goal is to restore the balance of your body’s structures.

If the osteopath determines that your condition is unlikely to benefit from osteopathic treatment, they will advise you on seeking further care. Osteopaths are trained to identify when a patient may require referral to a general practitioner (GP).
